33. Jesus Reproaches the Cities.

Like the ancient prophets Jesus also could bring sharp criticism to entire communities in order to stimulate them to change. Then in the next moment he could speak tenderly to God and marvel how its Spirit is revealed to little children more easily than to those who think they are smart.

God had given the Spirit to his awakened soul; but no one recognizes the divinity of the soul except God, and no one recognizes God except the soul and whomever the soul chooses to reveal this to. Jesus invites all the world-weary to come to him for rest and renewal and to follow the discipline (yoke, yoga) of his teaching, for he is simple and loving; and people will discover peace of mind; for the spiritual discipline is good and really makes things easier.
