Luke 10:38-11:8

And as they were proceeding he entered a certain village;
and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
And her sister was called Mary,
who also sitting at the Lord's feet listened to his word.

But Martha was busy with much serving;
and standing by she said, "Lord, doesn't it matter to you
that my sister left me alone to serve?
So tell her that she should help me."

And the Lord answering said to her, "Martha, Martha,
you are worried and bothered about many things,
but there is need of few things or one;
for Mary selected the good part,
which will not be taken from her."

And it happened when he was praying in a certain place,
as he stopped, that one of his disciples said to him,
"Lord, teach us to pray,
just as John also taught his disciples."

And he said to them, "When you pray, say:
'Father, let your name be holy;
let your sovereignty come;
give us our daily bread each day;
and forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves also forgive everyone owing us;
and do not bring us into temptation.'"

And he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend,
and goes to him in the middle of the night
and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
since my friend has come to me from a journey
and I have nothing that I may set before him;'
and that one inside answering says, 'Don't bother me;
the door has already been locked,
and my children are with me in bed;
I can't get up to give to you.'
I tell you, even if he will not give to him,
getting up because he is his friend,
yet because of his persistence,
rising he will give him whatever he needs.
