John 7:2-10
Luke 9:51-56
John 7:11-36
Thomas 38
Thomas 108

And the Jewish feast of Tabernacles was near.
Therefore his brothers said to him,
"Leave here and go into Judea,
so that your disciples also will see your works which you do;
for no one does anything in secret
and seeks to be in the open himself.
If you do these things, show yourself to the world."
For his brothers did not believe in him.

So Jesus says to them, "My time has not yet arrived,
but your time is always ready.
The world cannot hate you, but it hates me,
because I testify about it that its works are bad.
You go up to the feast;
I am not going up to this feast,
because my time has not yet been fulfilled."

And saying these things to them he stayed in Galilee.
But after his brothers went up to the feast,
then he also went up, not openly but in secret.
John 7:2-10

And it happened
as the days of his ascension were being fulfilled
that he set his face to go into Jerusalem,
and sent messengers ahead of him.
And proceeding they entered a Samaritan village,
to prepare for him;
and they did not welcome him
because he was heading for Jerusalem.

And the disciples James and John seeing
said, "Lord, do you want us to tell fire
to come down from heaven and destroy them?"

But turning he reprimanded them.
And they proceeded into a different village.
Luke 9:51-56

Therefore the Jews were looking for him at the feast
and said, "Where is that one?"

And there was much murmuring about him among the crowds;
some said, "He is good;"
but others said, "No, he misleads the crowd."
However, no one spoke openly about him
because of fear of the Jews.

The feast being already half over,
Jesus went up to the temple and taught.
So the Jews were surprised saying,
"How does this one know literature not having studied?"

So Jesus answered them and said, "My teaching is not mine,
but from the one who sent me;
if anyone is willing to do his will,
one will know about the teaching,
whether it is from God or whether I speak from myself.
The one speaking from himself seeks his own glory;
but the one seeking the glory of the one who sent him,
this one is true and injustice is not in him.
Did not Moses give you the law?
And none of you practices the law.
Why are you trying to kill me?"

The crowd answered, "You have a demon;
who is trying to kill you?"

Jesus answered and said to them,
"I did one work and you are all surprised.
For this reason Moses has given you circumcision,
not that it is from Moses but from the fathers,
and on a Sabbath you circumcise a person.
If a person receives circumcision on a Sabbath
so that the law of Moses may not be broken,
are you angry with me,
because I made a whole person healthy on a Sabbath?
Do not judge according to appearance,
but judge a just judgment."

Therefore some of the Jerusalemites said,
"Isn't this the one they are trying to kill?
And look, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him.
Have the authorities really concluded that this is the Christ?
But we know where this one is from;
and when the Christ comes,
no one will know where he is from."

So Jesus cried out in the temple teaching
and saying, "You know me and you know where I am from;
yet I have not come from myself,
but he is true who sent me, whom you do not know;
I know him, because I am from him and that one sent me."

So they tried to arrest him,
yet no one laid a hand on him,
because his hour had not yet come.
But many of the crowd believed in him,
and said, "When the Christ comes,
will he do more miracles than this one did?"

The Pharisees heard the crowd
murmuring these things about him,
and the high priests and the Pharisees
sent attendants to arrest him.

So Jesus said, "I am with you only a short time,
and I go to the one who sent me.
You will look for me and not find me,
and where I am you cannot come."

Then the Jews said to themselves,
"Where is he about to go, that we will not find him?
Is he about to go to the dispersion among the Greeks
and teach the Greeks?
What is this word which he said,
'You will look for me and not find me,
and where I am you cannot come'?"
John 7:11-36

Jesus said, "Many times you have desired
to hear these words which I say to you,
and you have no one else from whom to hear them.
There will be days
when you will look for me and not find me."
Thomas 38

Jesus said, "Whoever drinks from my mouth
will become like me,
and I myself will become he,
and the secrets will be revealed to him."
Thomas 108
