Thomas 106

And after six days Jesus takes along Peter and James and John,
and brings them up onto a high mountain privately alone.
And he was transformed before them,
and his clothes became shining, extremely white,
such as bleach on the earth cannot whiten so much.
And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses,
and they were speaking with Jesus.

And Peter answering says to Jesus, "Rabbi,
it is good we are here, and let us make three tents,
one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."
For he did not know what he should answer;
for he was terrified.

And a cloud came overshadowing them,
and a voice came from the cloud:
"This is my beloved son, listen to him."
And suddenly looking around they no longer saw anyone
except Jesus alone with themselves.
Mark 9:2-8

And after six days Jesus takes along
Peter and James and his brother John,
and brings them up onto a high mountain privately.
And he was transformed before them,
and his face shined like the sun,
and his clothes became as white as the light.

And look, there appeared to them
Moses and Elijah speaking with him.
And Peter answering said to Jesus,
"Lord, it is good we are here,
if you wish, I will make three tents here,
one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."

While he was still speaking,
look, a bright cloud overshadowed them,
and look, a voice from the cloud was saying,
"This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased;
listen to him."

And the disciples hearing fell on their faces
and were much afraid.

And Jesus approached and touching them said,
"Rise and do not be afraid."
And lifting up their eyes
they saw no one except Jesus himself alone.
Matthew 17:1-8

And it happened about eight days after these words,
that taking along Peter and John and James
he went up onto the mountain to pray.
And in his praying the appearance of his face became different
and his clothes became lightning white.

And look, two men spoke with him,
who were Moses and Elijah,
appearing in glory they told of his exodus,
which he was about to fulfill in Jerusalem.

And Peter and the ones with him were heavy with sleep;
but awakening they saw his glory
and the two men standing with him.

And it happened in their parting from him
that Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good we are here,
and let us make three tents,
one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah,"
not knowing what he says.

As he was saying these things,
a cloud came and overshadowed them;
and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.
And a voice came from the cloud saying,
"This is my chosen son, listen to him."
and as the voice came, Jesus was found alone.
And they were silent,
and no one reported in those days
anything which they had seen.
Luke 9:28-36

And as they were coming down
from the mountain he ordered them
that they should not relate to anyone what they saw,
until the human son should rise up from the dead.
And they kept the word to themselves
discussing what it is "to rise up from the dead."

And they questioned him saying,
"Why do the scholars say that Elijah must come first?"

And he said to them,
"Elijah coming first does restore all things;
and how has it been written that the human son
should suffer many things and be treated with contempt?
But I tell you that in fact Elijah has come,
and they did to him what they wished,
as it has been written about him."
Mark 9:9-13

And as they were coming down from the mountain
Jesus commanded them saying, "Tell no one the vision
until the human son is raised from the dead."

And the disciples questioned him saying,
"Why then do the scholars say that Elijah must come first?"

And answering he said,
"Elijah does come and restore all things;
but I tell you that Elijah already came,
and they did not recognize him,
but did with him whatever they wished;
so too the human son is going to suffer by them."
Then the disciples understood
that he told them about John the Baptist.
Matthew 17:9-13

His disciples said to him,
"On what day will rest come to the dead?
and on what day will the new world come?"

He said to them, "What you are expecting has come,
but you do not recognize it."
Thomas 51

And coming to the disciples
they saw a large crowd around them
and scholars debating with them.
And immediately all the people seeing him were amazed,
and running up to him they greeted him.

And he questioned them,
"What are you debating with them?"

And one of the crowd answered him, "Teacher,
I brought my son to you, having a speechless spirit;
and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down,
and he foams at the mouth
and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid;
and I told your disciples so that they might expel it,
and they could not."

But answering he says to them, "O faithless generation,
how long shall I be with you?
How long shall I endure you?
Bring him to me."

And they brought him to him.
And seeing him the spirit immediately convulsed him,
and falling on the ground he rolled foaming at the mouth.

And he questioned his father,
"How long has this been happening to him?"

And he said, "From childhood;
and often it threw him both into fire and into water
so that it might destroy him;
but if you can do anything,
help us, having compassion on us."

And Jesus said to him, "The 'If you can'!
All things are possible to the one believing."

Immediately crying out the father of the child said,
"I believe; help my disbelief!"

And Jesus seeing that a crowd was running together,
reprimanded the unclean spirit saying to it,
"Speechless and deaf spirit, I command you,
come out of him and you may no longer enter into him."

And having cried out and convulsed much it came out;
and he became as though dead,
so that many were saying that he died.
But Jesus taking his hand raised him, and he stood up.

And when he entered a house
his disciples privately questioned him,
"Why were we not able to expel it?"

And he said to them,
"This kind can come out by nothing except prayer."
Mark 9:14-29

And it happened on the next day
as they were coming down from the mountain
that a large crowd met him.
And look, a man from the crowd shouted
saying, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son,
for he is my only child,
and look, a spirit takes him, and suddenly cries out
and convulses him with foam at the mouth,
and with difficulty withdraws from him crushing him;
and I asked your disciples so that they might expel it,
and they could not."

And Jesus answering said,
"O faithless and perverted generation,
how long shall I be with you and endure you?
Bring here your son."

And while he was approaching,
the demon threw him down and convulsed;
but Jesus reprimanded the unclean spirit,
and cured the boy and gave him back to his father.
And they were all amazed at the grandeur of God.
Luke 9:37-43a

And coming to the crowd a person approached him
kneeling to him and saying, "Lord, have mercy on my son,
because he is a lunatic and ill;
for often he falls into the fire and often into the water.
And I brought him to your disciples,
and they could not heal him."

And Jesus answering said,
"O faithless and perverted generation,
how long shall I be with you?
How long shall I endure you?
Bring him to me here."

And Jesus reprimanded him,
and the demon came out from him,
and the boy was healed from that hour.

Then approaching Jesus privately the disciples said,
"Why were we not able to expel it?"

And he says to them, "Because of your little faith;
for amen, I tell you, if you have faith like a mustard seed,
you will say to this mountain, "Move from here to there,'
and it will be moved,
and nothing will be impossible for you."
Matthew 17:14-20

Jesus said, "When you make the two one,
you will become human sons;
and when you say, 'Mountain, be moved,' it will be moved."
Thomas 106
